On may 6, a lecture on wines of Central&Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, including Montenegro, was held for the IMC Krems/ University of Applied Sciences, in Krems, Austria.

@Darrel Joseph, wine journalist, wine judge and regional expert, presented wines for the students pursuing a Bachelor degree in International Wine Business.

At Darrel’s invitation, Lipovac sent Tellus as an interesting example of a wine made from the Vranac grape. Darrel presented this Tellus Vranac Amfora as “a fine example of a wine made with minimum intervention and with very good, pure flavours. And an excellent example from the Balkan region!”

The feedback from the students was extremely favorable with many positive comments. It was an interesting experience for both sides, and we are happy that more and more people are learning about our wine!

Wines tasting are becoming more popular. Tourists come to the winery, celebrities and connoisseurs traveling in search of new flavors visit Lipovac. The most commonly used word that characterizes their feedback is the word "Discovery." "Discovering the Balkans", "Discovering a new taste", "Discovering a place where the wine revolution is just beginning" ... We are very happy about this and do everything to every vintage becomes more and more discovering.

On September 15 we’ve got the results of the International tasting competition AWC Vienna 2017. Winery "Lipovac" was awarded: the gold medal went to the wine Vranac Model (vintage 2013), silver medal - Tellus Anfora (vintage 2015). We had sent only two of wine and won two prestigious medals, between more than 12 615 wines that were received from more than 40 countries worldwide.

The competition "officially recognized by the European Union and is the world's leading contest". To win a gold medal, the wine was supposed to receive 90 points out of a possible 100; silver "cost" from 87 to 89.9 points.

In these first days of May our Italian oenologist Stefano Casadei works at the winery. He analyzes the wine, blends and prepares for bottling.

In June Lipovac is going to bottle it’s flagships - white wine Idea and red Concept. Wines are aged in barrique, botti and tonno. Stefano comes to the conclusion that the aging of Vranac grapes in Botti is the most preferable. The wine getting more complex and rich in flavor. Model 2017 has a chance to be called outstanding. This vintage has great potential.

With the advent of the new year, the winery Lipovac is preparing for the summer tourist season. In the next two months representatives of tour operators will visit the winery .

Great location Lipovac Apartments in the mountains, not far from Lake Skadar and Kotor Bay, is a good reason for tourists to visit the picturesque vineyards and taste the best wines, in the opinion of many experts in Montenegro and beyond.
